We recently asked our employees to answer some questions about themselves, FiveFifty, and what it’s like to work here.
It has been super fun – both to create a profile, and to read each other’s profiles – so we thought we should share with the rest of you.
What did you do before starting with FiveFifty?
I was working as an Email Marketing Specialist for a publishing company called Summit Professional Networks. Before that, I was a Marketing Coordinator for Bridge-Linguatec, an international language education company.
What has surprised you most about working for FiveFifty?
It’s taken a lot of turns – I do many things and wear many hats beyond just the SEO I was hired for. I was also surprised to find that some of my coworkers are almost as good at ping-pong as I am. Almost.
What might someone be surprised to know about you?
I’m a self-published fantasy author – my book is called “Wings of the Sathakos” and it’s available online wherever books are sold. Supplies are limited, act now!
How do you spend your free time?
I’m getting my Masters in Marketing so there’s not a lot of free time but when I get some, I like to spend my mornings at cool indie coffee shops, writing. I really enjoy traveling, particularly to destinations where I can go scuba diving. I’m also a pretty big video game nerd; I spend more time playing Xbox than I’m comfortable admitting.
What do you wish other people knew about FiveFifty?
One thing I’m most proud of is that FiveFifty is the first company I’ve worked for that legitimately lives its core values. They’re not just random, buzzwordy terms – they really do define who and what we are.
How would your friends describe you?
I asked my friends and family this question last semester for a class. Most of them described me as “driven” because I’m always working on something, whether it’s a book, album, or Masters degree.
